Staircase

The staircase was carved by a Mr Woodroffe in 1673 and is a charming example of its period. The portrait of Benjamin Kenton, Master 1776, and a benefactor of the Company, is hung next to the Court Room. The portraits of Royal Vintners: The Earl of Athlone, Princess Alice Countess of Athlone, the late Duke of Gloucester and Princess Alice Duchess of Gloucester are hung near the upper landing. The stained glass window and painting on the first landing depict the legendary Feast of the Five Kings in 1363. At the top is the Perruquiers' Room with its vine frieze.
