Every year the Company awards trade scholarships to the tune of some £9,300 through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and the Institute of Masters of Wine. These awards allow students to pursue their studies by visiting wine producing regions. Full details are at Wine Educational Awards.
Education
The Company has had a long association with St Dunstan's, Stepney, in which church there is a memorial to Benjamin Kenton (Master 1776). Arising out of this connection, prizes are awarded each year to boys and girls at Sir John Cass's Foundation and The Red Coat Church of England Secondary School and The Stepney Greencoat Church of England Primary School, who are considered to have made all-round contributions to the life of the schools.
Since 2000 the Company has awarded an annual scholarship for three years to a Red Coat pupil who has gained a university place and funded extra tuition in the arts at the Greencoat School. |
