Gassiot and Swan Rooms

When Vintners' Place was built in 1992, these two rooms were created for the Company. The Gassiot Room (Charles Gassiot, Master 1894) was formed originally in 1899 as the Smoking Room and was moved to its present site, where it contains some of the Company's glass and pictures. Two recent paintings are a still life depicting various objects dear to the Company and a group portrait of members of the Court in the millennium year.

Swan Room

In the Swan Room hangs the Swan Banner and in the display case are archaeological finds from beneath Vintners' Place, together with a fine collection of old bottles on permanent loan from Findlater, Mackie, Todd & Co Ltd. On the north wall are coats of arms of recent Vintner Lord Mayors: Bowater, Denny and Truscott. Facing the french windows are three false arches. In 1996, trompe l'oeil murals were executed by Colin Failes, depicting scenes on the south bank of the Thames at different times during the Company's history.
