Mosel 2020 - Cycling Package

 Please read the specifics of the event given below and at the bottom of this page you will be able to book your rider package.

Vintners’ Velo invites cycling members, and a small number of guests where available space permits, to take part in the Mosel 2020 Charity Cycle ride.  The event will be organised in a similar manner to ‘City to Surf’ in 2015.

This is a three day road cycling event covering 100 miles per day from Cambrai in Northern France to Bernkastel-Kues in Germany. 

This is a physically demanding event which requires significant advance preparation.

Event Schedule

Tuesday 23 June 2020

All rider kit, including bikes to be dropped at Vintners’ Hall no later than late afternoon.

Provision can be made to drop  kit in the days prior

Some riders and support crew may wish to stay overnight at Vintners’ Hall, if rooms are available, or in nearby hotels.  Accommodation for Tuesday night IS NOT included in the package price and is at individual expense.  

Wednesday 24 June 2020

08.00 – Cyclists’ Coach and 3 x support vehicles depart Vintners’ Hall and drive to Cambrai via Dover Calais channel crossing.  
All cyclists (if not staying overnight) must be at Vintners’ Hall by 07.30.  Bikes MUST be delivered no later than Tuesday afternoon
Dinner and overnight Cambrai.

EasyJet flight EZY 8248 departing Luxembourg 17:40 arriving Gatwick at 18:00.

Cycles and kit will be available to collect from Vintners Hall from Monday 29 June

Rider Entry Pricing

The Rider Package price for entry into the Mosel 2020 charity cycle ride is £456.00 per rider. 

A deposit of £150.00 is payable at the time of booking to secure your place

Included in the Rider Package:

* Coach from Vintners Hall to Cambrai

* Cycle and kit transportation

* 4 x nights hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast

* Support with light lunch and refreshments whilst cycling

* Baggage transfers whilst cycling

* Private tasting and dinner hosted by Taittinger (Reims)

* Barbecue - hosted by Weingut Dr Loosen (Bernkastel)

* Coach transfer to Luxembourg airport (Sunday)

Please note the following:

For the return trip there will only be one coach transfer to Luxembourg Airport on Sunday 28 June and it will be timed to fit in with our recommended EasyJet flight EZY 8248 departing Luxembourg 17:40 arriving Gatwick at 18:00.  

The rider package DOES NOT include the cost of the return flight and this MUST be purchased separately by each rider.  It is advised that the return flight is booked as soon as possible.

There are no discounts to the Rider Package price if you choose not use the coach transport and make alternative travel arrangements.

Rider Charity Sponsorship

In addition to purchasing the Rider Package, each rider, be they a member or guest, is expected to raise a minimum of £500 in personal sponsorship, which will be split equally between the Vintners’ Foundation and the Master & Mistress’s chosen charity, Cancer Research, which is close to the Mistress’s heart, as well as it being in memory of Marcia Waters MW, who should have been the First Lady Master Vintner this year.

Book the Rider Package

  • Each rider must book their own package

  • You will be required to pay a deposit of £150 when you book your package
    The final balance will be due at the end of April 2020

  • Each rider will be required to acknowledge the event Terms & Conditions which can be read HERE

  • Once you complete the booking form and make payment of the deposit, you will receive an email confirmation of your booking
