A Royal Visit
Yesterday evening, the Vintners’ Company was deeply honoured to host a visit from Her Majesty The Queen, Honorary Liveryman of the Company.
Her Majesty maintains strong affiliations with, and is an active patron of, the wine trade. Following the accession of His Majesty The King, The Queen has begun granting her own Royal Warrants. Among Her Majesty’s first recipients in 2024 was Camel Valley, a vineyard in Cornwall led by Vintner Sam Lindo. Camel Valley had previously been awarded a Royal Warrant in 2018 by The King, as Prince of Wales - a significant moment for the industry, as it marked the first time a British wine producer had received a Royal Warrant.
During the visit, Her Majesty engaged with a broad spectrum of Vintners’ Company members and staff.
This provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the breadth of our work: from centuries-old traditions and the development of the next generation of wine trade professionals, to active charitable commitments and the sense of community and fellowship that defines our Company.
We express our sincere gratitude to Her Majesty for her time, interest, and continued support.
